North Africa, read by the women who work in it

Women in CRC is a platform for the women who read North Africa from the inside. It is convened by Carthage Risk Consulting and shaped by contributors who live and work across the region.

The purpose is simple. Business decisions, risk assessments and regional narratives about North Africa are still, most of the time, written from outside the region and without the women who work in it. This platform corrects that, one contribution at a time.

A private forum where members share observations, ask difficult questions and stress-test decisions before they are taken. Confidential by design.

Members support each other's careers, publications and mandates. The platform is a network of practitioners, not an audience.

Why this platform exists

The women who understand North Africa best are already at work in it

They advise boards, run companies, write policy, teach law, manage risk, cover the region as journalists and researchers. They are not always in the room when decisions about the region are taken.

Women in CRC gathers them, in one deliberate group, and gives their work a channel. The firm behind the platform, Carthage Risk Consulting, contributes structure, editorial standards and the confidentiality practices its clients already rely on.

How it works

Invited. Named. Accountable.

Contributors join by invitation, after a short conversation. Each contributor writes on the ground she covers. Publications appear here and, where relevant, on the firm's site.

Members share access to a private channel where regional questions can be asked and answered in confidence.

Every contribution comes from a contributor with direct working experience in the country she is writing about. No desk research masquerading as fieldwork.

Confidential by default

Members' identities are protected unless they choose to publish under their own name. The firm's confidentiality practice governs all correspondence.

Answerable work

Every note is signed. Every finding is dated. The person who wrote it is the person a reader can question about it.
